Barack Obama told voters during the presidential election that he wanted to work with both sides of the abortion debate to reduce the number of abortions. Yet, over the weekend, he picked a top staffer for one of the biggest pro-abortion groups to become his communications director.

The selection of Ellen Moran, the executive director of Emily’s List, to become the White House communications director makes it clear that the only agenda Obama plans to communicate as president is more abortions.

So-Called Pro-Life Advocates Who Backed Obama Say Banning Abortion Failed

November 18, 2008, by Steven Ertelt

“If one strategy has failed and failed over decades, and you have empirical information that tells how you can honor life and encourage women to make that choice by meeting real needs that are existing and tangible, why not do that?” he told the Post.

However, the strategy to ban or limit abortions legislatively has not failed.

As the Alan Guttmacher Institute, a former Planned Parenthood affiliate, noted in January, the number of abortions is at historic lows.

Research from University of Alabama professor Dr. Michael New shows states that have passed the most pro-life laws to reduce abortions have seen the biggest abortion declines.

When Rich Get Stingy, It Trickles Down To Rest Of Us

When Rich Get Stingy, It Trickles Down To Rest Of Us
August 4, 2008 by AP

Wow, an AP report confirming Reaganomics, or the trickle down theory. Why is it called “stingy” for the rich but “thrifty” when you do it?

The rich are sharing your financial pain – and contributing to it.

They are investing more conservatively, spending less on luxury goods and are being more thrifty with their credit cards. Many are asking their personal shoppers and private-jet travel providers to seek the best deals rather than over-the-top extravagances.

That news may produce a shrug from many people who have lost their jobs or homes in this economy. The problem is that when the wealthy get stingy, it trickles down to the rest of us.

Home-school family harassed by social worker

November 18, 2008

A home school legal advocate is disturbed by the recent actions of a social worker in Florida.

According to Kris Klicka of the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), a social worker in Miami, Florida, overstepped the boundary of law when she demanded to interview a home schooler’s children. He says the social worker showed up at the family’s home when the father was at work — and out of fear and intimidation, the mother let the social worker into the home to interview her children, even though the worker neither had a warrant nor would disclose why she was there.
