original article: Don’t Blame Tinder For Unsatisfying ‘Selfie Sex’
August 26, 2015 by Anna Sargent

Vanity Fair buried the lede in its article this month about the Tinder Generation: “Tinder and the Dawn of the ‘Dating Apocalypse.’” What’s surprising isn’t that the kids are using Tinder for instant gratification—it’s that the kids aren’t getting it:

“A lot of guys are lacking in that department,” says Courtney with a sigh. “What’s a real orgasm like? I wouldn’t know.” They all laugh knowingly.

They talk about how it’s not uncommon for their hookups to lose their erections. It’s a curious medical phenomenon, the increased erectile dysfunction in young males, which has been attributed to everything from chemicals in processed foods to the lack of intimacy in hookup sex.

“At four in the morning this guy was so upset, and I was like, Dude, I’ll just go to fucking sleep—it’s O.K.,” says Sarah, 21, the one with the long curly dark hair. “I get really tired of faking.”

So why are they doing it? Tinder with orgasms makes sense. Tinder without orgasms doesn’t. For a generation that aspires to women having it all, it’s surprising to learn that we’re not even daring to expect orgasms out of sex.

The Shift In Dating And Mating

What we’re experiencing is a revolution, according to Justin Garcia, a research scientist at Indiana University’s Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction, as quoted in the Vanity Fair piece:

“’There have been two major transitions [in heterosexual mating] in the last four million years[.] The first was around 10,000 to 15,000 years ago, in the agricultural revolution, when we became less migratory and more settled,’ leading to the establishment of marriage as a cultural contract. ‘And the second major transition is with the rise of the Internet.’”

The category difference this time is in whether there’s any baseline for having sex. I’m not talking love or babies or marriage here, or even dinner and a movie. I’m talking orgasms, the thing that makes sex, well—sex.

It’s hard to tell whether this is a gender issue or a generation issue. Both young men and women are experiencing decreased sexual satisfaction, between increased erectile dysfunction and unsatisfying quickie romps.

Yet it’s feminists who have been driving the baseline down for this generation, and it’s women who suffer when sex is easier to come by. So it’s women who hold the key to a change.

Why Women Shouldn’t Date Like Men

There’s an old joke about the difference between the sexes: Put a man in a room with ten women, and he’ll play. Put a woman in a room with ten men, and she’ll choose. We can ignore biology all we want, but when women act like men, women lose.

Subtracting from the sexual baseline has long been a central theme of feminism: Play like the boys, don’t choose like a girl. It’s created an artificial equality-driven race to the bottom, and the result is joyless sex for everyone. Who can even remember the days when one right-swipe was all you ever got.

Feminists call this race to the bottom “owning our sexuality.” #GenerationTinder can’t be what it looks like for millennials to own our sexuality. There’s no way young women chose dick pics and young men chose erectile dysfunction.

It’s not that millennials don’t want anything out of sex; we’ve just failed the marshmallow test to hold out for something better. We’re so fixated on validation that we’ve forgotten there IS anything better—that we don’t have to fake it.

Tinder’s toll on women has been well explored by Tinder users—there’s the famously bro-y founder; his partner-cum-ex and HER “feminist” dating app, Bumble (only women can initiate text conversations); and the Tinder sex discrimination lawsuit. If you missed the apocalyptic articles about Normcore fashion, just google “Tinder Nightmares” or “Tinder in Brooklyn” for quickie access to the sense that you’re staring into the abyss.

Vanity Fair hit a deeper nerve this time—with Tinder itself. The app responded via Twitter, citing users in Pakistan, China, and North Korea, where certain types of social media or relationships are illegal and Tinder offers unique access to compatible partners, and pointing to its layered social media authentication as evidence that it’s more than text-linked

Don’t Blame Tinder

It’s tough to fault Tinder for becoming defensive, when the app so frequently takes the hit for causing the dating “apocalypse.” Tinder isn’t to blame here—sex has simply become part of the sharing economy, as available and low-commitment as catching a Lyft (“’It’s like ordering Seamless,’ says Dan, the investment banker [ . . . ] ‘But you’re ordering a person.’”). Millennials aren’t in it for the long haul—we’re just in it for the selfie, a single validating snapshot to communicate that we belong.

Selfie sex is about validation, and nothing more. On Maslow’s Pyramid of Needs, it falls in some social media back door, peripheral to anything durable or meaningful in life. Equating love with sex may seem pearl-clutch-y and old-fashioned—but divorcing even orgasms from sex seems like a stretch. Yet here we are, sliding ever further down a slippery slope.

Like any apocalypse, the Tinder dating apocalypse isn’t the end; it’s a revelation and an opportunity. Our dating revelation is that we’ve gone very, very far, to a pretty depressing place. The opportunity then is to stop commodifying something precious, that we can’t easily get back.

If kids these days want to have it all, we have to start by not settling for less. We are all in the same boat, on the same spectrum, and there is more to life than faking it. Revolution or no, the dating apocalypse is an opportunity to put down your phone—and swipe right on something better than this.

Selective nuance on WDBJ shooting

Nick Wing over at the Huffington Post thinks he’s got a zinger of a headline and a profound, enlightened point to make: Fox News Gets Schooled On Why WDBJ Shooting Isn’t Necessarily An Anti-White Hate Crime. Wing tries to make Fox News in particular, and conservatives in general, appear as simple minded and un-nuanced in responding to the question “He shot three white people today. Why is that not a hate crime?” Wing is sure to mention the “security expert” Paul Viollis’s opinion that there is not enough information to determine Vester Lee Flanagan’s crime was racially motivated.

The over arching context here is that such nuance is NEVER employed when black people are harmed at the hands of white people. There has never been such open mindedness and calm sensibility and resistance to half-cocked speculation when cops have been criticized for use of force against black people. The fraudulent Duke rape case is a perfect example of prejudice and political correctness running amok, with no concern about due process or the law. These, and other examples, show us a very clear standard:

white people are to be treated as inherently oppressive and racist, therefore any accusation of evil should be taken at face value, no need to look at the pesky facts.

That is the standard shown in countless news stories about a black man dying at the hands of police. White police, dead black man, that’s all you need to know. That’s obviously the attitude of the Black Lives Matter crowd.

So when Fox News’ Gretchen Carlson asks why isn’t the WDBJ shooting automatically treated as an anti-white hate crime, she’s not only asking a question; she’s also making the same point I’m making. There is a double standard at work here. When a black man kills some white people we need to avoid jumping to conclusions and get all the facts. When a white guy kills several black people racism is the first thing on people’s minds, and that’s good enough for a news story, before any other facts are known.

Flanagan’s manifesto offers several facts which help bring light to his evil intentions, but the majority of the left leaning news media can’t seem to add zero and one. Flanagan shows in his screed the was angry, called himself a “human powder keg”, and admits he was engaging in a race war. Investigations show he was not only discontent with his employment situation, he apparently saw racism or anti-gay hate everywhere.

Apparently he’s from Oakland, CA and earned his degree in journalism from San Francisco State University. One may wonder if Flanagan was surrounded by so much left wing propaganda that he was educated into delusion and victimization.

But we don’t have to go there to find outrage. No, even reporting merely on the facts of the matter garner outrage from many in the news and in politics. Why? Because reporting on the facts makes people think Flanagan was an anti-white racist. And why would that be? Because that’s how we’ve all been programmed to think. That’s the standard put in place by main stream news coverage of incidents that even could be construed as racially motivated.

So Gretchen Colson’s question is perfectly legitimate. A corrupt media complex taught us we didn’t need to know any facts about white cops killing black thugs or white college boys raping a black woman. So why do we need to know the facts about Flanagan?

Obviously, we do need to wait to get all the facts. But that reasonable caution is so seldom employed when the extreme left find an opportunity to exploit why bother with it now?

Crowds gather to protest St. Louis police shooting, but no outrage for murder of girl, 9

original article: Crowds gather to protest St. Louis police shooting, but no outrage for murder of girl, 9
August 20, 2015 by Fox News

A crowd gathered Wednesday evening to protest the shooting of an armed suspect by Missouri cops, but no mention was made of the 9-year-old girl who had been shot dead by an unknown assailant just seven miles away the night before.

Jamyla Bolden was killed doing homework on her mom’s bed and her mother was also wounded when someone began firing into their Ferguson home around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Fox2Now.

Bolden had just returned from a birthday party when shots rang out. Jamyla’s mom, who was released from a hospital Wednesday morning, was wounded in the leg. Jamyla suffered more serious injuries. Her grandmother embraced her, imploring her to continue breathing as police tried in vain to save her.

“I kept holding and holding her,” the grandmother, who did not wish to be identified, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “I still have her blood on my hands. She was still breathing. I was telling her to just breathe.”

No suspect has been arrested or even publicly named, though relatives said they believed police had identified a person of interest and think the gunman probably targeted the wrong house.

“We have to keep thinking about the blessed opportunity we had to encounter her presence,” said Teressa Kindle, Bolden’s teacher at Koch Elementary where Bolden had just begun fourth grade. “Everyone knew her drive for success: academic success, behavioral success, any success – kickball success, jump rope success.”

That sentiment was echoed by her principal, Howard Fields.

“We have a slogan right outside when you come into our building that says, ‘Do better than your best,’” Fields told Fox2Now. “You determine how far you can go, no one else. She is an individual who exemplified that every single day.”

Ira DeWitt, the wife of St. Louis Cardinals President Bill DeWitt, will pay Bolden’s funeral expenses, KSDK reported.

If You Still Support Planned Parenthood, You Are Simply Not a Decent Person

original article: If You Still Support Planned Parenthood, You Are Simply Not a Decent Person
August 20, 2015 by Matt Walsh

The latest Planned Parenthood video is out. This time, it’s revealed that living babies with beating hearts are being sold and dissected.

One might think this is big news. One might think this is the biggest news going on right now. One might think the whole country should stop in its tracks and focus intently on this story. One might think that any decent human being would be overcome by a bitter, violent, passionate anger at these Planned Parenthood revelations. One might think we’d all be moved to do something. Do something, damn it. Do something.

But one is clearly not familiar with how this country works. Indeed, the first couple of Planned Parenthood videos garnered some interest, but the large collection of bored, emasculated narcissists in our culture have responded with an increasingly loud yawn with each successive installment.

If polls are to be believed, Planned Parenthood is actually still a pretty popular organization, and out of the people who saw the videos, less than half now have a more negative opinion of the child butchers.

Less than half.

Dear God, forgive us.

Of course, the media hasn’t helped matters. If you rely on mainstream “journalists” for your information, you probably didn’t hear a single word about the most recent footage, even though it contains blockbuster, earth-shattering news. You’ve likely been inundated with stories about Donald Trump and maybe Hillary Clinton, but not the continued wholesale slaughter and sale of infants.

Social media hasn’t been any better. Yesterday, several hours after the video was released, here were the top trending headlines on Twitter:

  • “Jared Fogle to plead guilty to underage sex, child porn”
  • “Did Shaun King mislead Oprah about his race?”
  • “Deez Nuts joins 2016 presidential race”
  • “50 crazy things photographers do to get the perfect shot”
  • “Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green split after 11 years together”
  • “Dolphins safety carted off field with ACL injury”

Conspicuously, out of the top 20 hot topics, none of them had anything to do with a billion dollar conglomerate ripping the brains out of children’s heads.

(Incidentally, it’s interesting that Jared Fogle is being arrested for child porn at all. It’s legal to execute children and use their bodies for medical research, so why exactly is it illegal to use their bodies as sex objects? When it comes to vile, wretched, despicable creatures, child pornographers and Planned Parenthood employees are clearly in the same subspecies. What’s the moral reasoning behind funding one and locking the other in prison?)

That’s our society for you. Infatuated with personalities, obsessed with politics and celebrity, but bored with the little details like life and death and genocide. We are, collectively, a terminally ill cancer patient worrying about a pimple on her forehead, or a man complaining about the scratch on his fender while the mangled pedestrian he just hit dies bleeding on the pavement.

I just can’t take this anymore. This preoccupation with irrelevant minutiae. This insane self-centeredness. This absolute disregard for human life. It’s not just strange or curious or unfortunate anymore; it’s downright sociopathic.

Is that the problem — mass sociopathy? Or are we just callous? Selfish? Afraid? Stupid?

I don’t know. I imagine the truth is a mix of these things. I imagine when some historian writes the definitive book about us, it might actually be titled, “Callous, Selfish, Afraid, and Stupid: The Story of Western Civilization in the 21st Century.”

There are some exceptions, of course. Plenty of pro-life warriors are out there, fighting for life and liberty with all they’ve got, but they are not the majority. They are exceptions to the rule, and the rule is something entirely unconscionable and shameful.

So if you missed the last offering in the Center for Medical Progress’ ongoing “HELLO, BABIES ARE BEING MURDERED AND SOLD FOR PROFIT AND NOW MIGHT BE A GOOD TIME TO START GIVING A CRAP” series (not the official title), I’ll give you the rundown. It’s horrific and terrible, obviously, but its fatal flaw is that it doesn’t involve Kim Kardashian or fast food spokesmen, therefore it has little hope of gaining the sort of attention it warrants.

The video opens with Deborah Nucatola, the lovely Planned Parenthood executive we met in previous episodes, explaining how she “huddles” with her team each morning to determine which babies will yield the best harvest.

We go to Holly O’Donnell, a former “tissue procurement specialist” with StemExpress, who reveals that “fully intact fetuses” are often cultivated for parts.

Cut to a procurement manager discussing how sometimes women go in for abortions and “are out in three minutes” because, by the time they’re ready for the procedure, the baby is “already in the vaginal canal” and it “just falls out.” In other words, it’s alive and in the process of being born.

In the following clip, a director for Planned Parenthood tells an undercover investigator that if they “alter their process” (a direct admission of a felony) they can “obtain intact fetal cadavers,” which are then cut up and sold in different shipments. The dismembered baby, she brags, is “just a line item.”

Back to Deborah Nucatola describing how the child’s “presentation” can be changed in order to preserve the brain.

O’Donnell then relays a story about a time when she witnessed the “procurement” of a developed baby with a beating heart. Her coworker reportedly squealed that it was “kinda neat.”

Cut to a succession of officials at Planned Parenthood and procurement firms detailing how babies can be aborted without destroying the bodies or poisoning the organs. There is really only one way to do this: deliver the baby alive, then dissect it. This is plainly stated by one official, who reports that sometimes the hearts are still working after the abortion.

The most disturbing part comes next. We see footage of a baby in a dish moving its limbs, as O’Donnell tells us how she was instructed to take the baby with the beating heart, cut open its face, and extract its brain.

This isn’t just the sale of aborted children we’re dealing with; this is the dissection of living babies. Babies are being born alive and murdered for their organs. Meanwhile, the sole counter to this claim is that the children are actually murdered moments before birth. That’s obviously not a viable moral defense to begin with, and it isn’t true, either.

This is what we’re facing: a situation where the best case scenario is that babies are being brutally murdered while still in the uterus and then disassembled in petri dishes minutes later. Essentially, Planned Parenthood is caught with a bloody knife, standing over a dead body, and their whole excuse is that they didn’t just kill the victim — they killed him seven minutes ago. But even that, it turns out, is too high an ethical bar for Planned Parenthood to reliably jump over.

Instead, they take babies with beating hearts and dismember them.

Do I need to repeat that a hundred times for it to matter to our culture?

Babies with beating hearts are being dismembered and sold or parts.

Babies with beating hearts are being dismembered and sold for parts.

Babies with beating hearts are being dismembered and sold for parts.

I could write 50,000 sentences elaborating on that theme, but I’m not sure any of it can do any good if “babies with beating hearts are being dismembered and sold for parts” isn’t already enough to fill you with an urgent, holy rage.

I probably can’t explain why this is wrong if you really don’t understand instinctively. I can’t infuse a functioning moral compass into your mind. Either you have a conscience or you don’t. Either you are a decent person or you are not. Either you care about the lives of children or you don’t. Either you will put all of your political prejudices aside and condemn this unmitigated evil or you won’t because you are a moral degenerate.

You cannot be a decent person and still support Planned Parenthood because “decent” means “morally upright and respectable.” There is nothing — absolutely nothing — morally upright or respectable about being an apologist for child killers.

We can debate many issues. We can listen to both sides of all sorts of topics. We can come to different compromises and reach all kinds of understandings. But not with this. With this there is just good and evil. You are one hundred percent right or one hundred percent wrong, with no room at all left in between.

A few other notes:

1) To “Christians” who have not yet taken a stand, know this: it is a sin to condone Planned Parenthood’s actions. It is a sin to make excuses for them. It is a sin to stay silent.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said silence in the face of evil is itself evil. If you are willfully complicit in the murder of children, you share in the responsibility for it.

Ask yourself, has God sent us here to come up with creative rationales for the worst evils of our time? Or has He sent us to be disciples of Christ and soldiers for Truth? How do you think God views the destruction of precious and innocent human life? How do you think He views His supposed followers who hide in the corner like spineless traitors while His children are ripped to shreds and stuffed in biohazard containers? Do you imagine He’s proud of such behavior? Do you think He will not see that justice is done? Do you really think He will ignore the cries of these children just as you have? Do you think you’ll never have to answer to Him?

These videos are a great gift from God. He has struck a severe blow against the forces of darkness by bringing their deeds into the light. But this gift could also be our damnation if we fail to act or to care. Now we have no moral alibi. It’s out there in the open, the “grey areas” we manufactured in our heads have been obliterated. God has put it all in front of us and said, “Here you go. Now it’s time to choose a side.”

Whose side are you on, friend?

2) Donald Trump likes to say a nation that doesn’t protect its borders is not a nation. I agree, but a nation that doesn’t protect its children is even less a nation. A nation that preys upon its young is a parasite.

You can tell me all about our technological achievements and our medical advancements and our wealth and our art and whatever else, but none of it means anything if we can’t even shield our own children from the worst barbarity and cruelty the world has ever seen. How can we celebrate our “exceptionalism” when we’re not exceptional enough to stop our government from funding the daily slaughter of infant children?

You might say that a house without walls is not a house, and this would certainly be an apt comparison for a country without a protected border. But the most important thing about a house is the family it shelters inside. What can be said then about our “national family”? We kill our young and hope their bodies will be useful to cure our diseases. We’ve become like villains in some macabre comic book, trying to live for a million years by devouring the flesh of infants. That’s not much of a family, and we are not much of a country.

3) It’s clear that progressives are born with some kind of genetic irony deficiency. They seem to be incapable of noticing their own ironic contradictions, no matter how extreme.

Here’s a Tweet from Chris Hayes, an MSNBC host and pro-choice radical:

Tiny humans to be cherished and valued, Chris? I agree. But I think our significant disagreement comes with the application of this concept. You believe the tiny, valuable, cherished humans should be legally eligible for summary execution; I, on the other hand, tend to think “cherished” and “valued” people should be afforded basic protections against torture and murder.

But Chris isn’t the only liberal suddenly discovering an affection for “tiny humans”:

Hillary Clinton: they're called babies

Yes. They’re called babies. Unless they’re in a Planned Parenthood clinic, in which case they are, alternatively, “tissue,” “product,” or “profit.”

But then again, this is coming from Hillary Clinton, the same person who describes herself in her Twitter bio as a “women and kids advocate,” despite being a pro-abortion extremist who spent 20 years intimidating and silencing the women her husband sexually assaulted.

Apparently she has some very unique ideas about “advocacy.”

4) Some Republicans are afraid that it might be impolitic to shut down government for the sake of defunding Planned Parenthood. I think Conservatives need to make it clear that it’s now quite impolitic if they don’t. This should not even be a discussion. Of course government should be shutdown to prevent it from giving another 500 million dollars to baby butchers. I’d sooner burn the whole system to the ground and start over again from scratch than let this go on for another year.

I can tell you for sure that I will not support, and will actively campaign to undermine, discredit, and shame, any Republican who refuses to dedicate themselves sincerely and completely to the defunding of Planned Parenthood, the prosecution of Planned Parenthood officials, and the criminalization and destruction of the entire abortion industry.

I am done giving any Republican even the slightest room to breathe on this issue. Stand up or shut up and go away. I have absolutely no use for  a Republican who can’t get it right when it comes to baby murder. No use whatsoever.

5) People often ask me what they can do about all of this. That’s a good question, and I wish we were at the stage where all conservatives and Christians only needed to know what to do, rather than still needing to be convinced that they ought to care in the first place.

I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but as far as I see it, our attack should be, and is, multi-pronged:

  • Keep the issue out in the open. Talk about it on social media. Talk about it with your friends. Take a stance publicly, through whatever forums you have available to you.
  • Support candidates who are one hundred percent pro-life and fully committed to the cause. I won’t tell you which candidates fit that bill because I think they still have to prove themselves.
  • Take to the streets. Picket Planned Parenthood clinics. March. Rally. Be present and active physically.
  • Money talks. Our government gives half a billion dollars to the abortion industry. You might not have that much to give, but donate whatever you can to pregnancy centers and other organizations that serve the cause of life.
  • Pray. If we aren’t going to include prayer in this crusade, it will be hopeless. Pray. Every day.

So we’re talking, we’re pressuring, we’re marching, we’re giving, we’re praying.

But it begins, as I said, with caring.

This is the most basic step. We have to care.

To not care is a willful act, an evil act, and there’s just no excuse for it anymore.

Federal watchdogs accused of stealing lunch money from needy kids

Federal watchdogs accused of stealing lunch money from needy kids
August 12, 2015 by Fox News

Five employees who work at a federal watchdog agency tasked with rooting out fraud and abuse were indicted Tuesday after investigators say they concocted a plan that stole lunch money from needy children.

Prosecutors say the employees, all working with the Government Accountability Office, as well as the spouse of a separate GAO worker, tried to illegally obtain reduced-price school lunches for their children. They did so by falsely reporting their incomes in order to qualify for the discounted government meals.

“There is no excuse for stealing funds intended to go to children whose parents cannot afford the school lunches,” Maryland’s Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said in a written statement announcing the news. “Their actions are made even worse by the fact that some of them claimed to have not just low income, but no income at all, even though they were working full-time jobs at the GAO.”

One of the accused is Lynette Mundey, a Prince George’s County school board member. Mundey, along with Barbara Rowley, Jamilah Reid, Tracy Williams, Charlene Savoy and James Pinkney, the spouse of a GAO employee, were charged with filing false applications, fraud and theft.

Federal officials say the group bilked the program designed to benefit needy children out of $13,000 over the course of five years. They did so by either under-reporting their income or in some cases, reporting that they had no income even though their actual salaries ranged from $55,000 to $78,000.

Children who are legally eligible for the reduced-cost lunch program must come from households with incomes at or below 130 percent of the poverty level – or about $30,615 for a family of four.

A reduced-price lunch costs an elementary child 40 cents compared to $2.75 for a full-price meal, according to the Prince George’s County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services.

“This is a program for people who can’t afford it, but these are people who can,” John Erzen, a spokesman for the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office told The Washington Post in a statement.

Calls to Mundey as well as the Prince George’s County Board of Education were not immediately returned.

Tortured logic is standard procedure when denying personhood to a group of human beings

Like slave owners and Nazis before them, abortion supporters must play semantic games with personhood to rob an entire people group of their inherent humanity. Being liberal with other people’s rights requires being liberal with language as well.

original article: Planned Parenthood Defenders Rely on Tortured Logic
August 7, 2015 by MONA CHAREN

For decades, I’ve believed that displaying grisly photographs of aborted babies was the wrong way to make the pro-life case. Disturbing images, I thought, would only repel viewers, not persuade them. I now think I was wrong.

There are many ways to make an argument. The Center for Medical Progress has demonstrated that a two-by-four has its uses. These videos, precisely because they are graphic, shatter the complacency and denial that are essential for a regime of mass violence to proceed. They undermine the reassuring fiction that birth is a bright moral line. Five seconds before the baby emerges, it has no moral worth. Five seconds after — all moral worth. That is untenable logically and pitiless psychologically.

No one who has a passing familiarity with man’s inhumanity to man can be completely surprised that people who consider themselves humane can pull bags of body parts out of the freezer and pick through hands, eyes, lungs, and hearts on a light tray.

As the footage was released, defenders of Planned Parenthood rushed to explain that many medical procedures are grisly. Writing in The New Republic, Dr. Jen Gunter protests that “These are not ‘baby parts.’ Whether a woman has a miscarriage or an abortion, the tissue specimen is called ‘products of conception.’” Oh. If they’re not baby parts, why are they valuable for research and sale? CNN’s Errol Lewis insisted that, “Most of us would freak out if we listened to professionals . . . discuss details of how a dying person’s request to have their body parts donated . . . actually gets carried out.” No, we wouldn’t. It isn’t the gore that that causes us to recoil; it’s the intentional killing. It’s knowing that if the abortionist’s hand were stayed for just a few more weeks, that child could live out his whole life.

Following the release of the first video, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, blindsided and unaware of what was still to come, apologized for Dr. Deborah Nucatola’s tone. Nucatola is the Director of Medical Services who spoke of “less crunchy” techniques and getting intact “calvariums” (heads) and other organs. Euphemisms are as critical to Planned Parenthood’s work as forceps, and as the other videos are demonstrating, pretty much everyone in that business adopts the same breezy tone about “products of conception.” They are so callous that they don’t recognize the gut-punch impact of a clinic worker casually noting that one of the samples was “a twin” or “a boy.”

Another key fiction these videos retire definitively is that second-trimester abortions are vanishingly rare. As a Planned Parenthood employee assures the filmmakers, one clinic alone does 40-50 “procedures” (euphemism again) per month on 16-to-22-week-old fetuses.

At 23 weeks’ gestation, according to the March of Dimes Foundation, the chances of survival outside the womb are about 17 percent. By 26 weeks, the chances are 80 percent. Just three weeks’ difference. When a pregnancy ends in miscarriage after 20 weeks, many states require a fetal death certificate. These rules do not apply when the death is intentional. Strange.

The most hardened abortion supporter (and we see that they are very hard) agrees that when the mother or both parents of a “product of conception” wants that “product,” the loss of a pregnancy is a tragedy. Who would be so cruel as to deny that the parents of a 23-week-old baby should have a funeral and burial if they request it?

The logic of Planned Parenthood is that human dignity and membership in the human family is completely contingent on the feelings of others, specifically mothers. Never mind that millions of couples wait impatiently for the chance to adopt infants. (There are even waiting lists to adopt Down Syndrome children.)

Well, reply the abortion absolutists, such as the Reproductive and Sexual Health and Justice group, adoption is not a “universal alternative” to abortion. Some women who place their babies for adoption do so with a “heavy heart.” Yes, and some women who have abortions grieve for years. But subjective feelings are irrelevant to human decency. People who care for parents suffering from Alzheimer’s and other disabilities also have mixed feelings. They would not be human if they didn’t sometimes wish for the ordeal to come to a rapid end. Such feelings, however intense they may be, do not justify violence.

Planned Parenthood’s defenders, including Hillary Clinton, stand exposed for their radicalism and evasion. Abortion, as Senator Elizabeth Warren put it last week, is “the most difficult decision a woman will make in her entire life.” There’s the core dishonesty: If it’s a “product of conception” and not a baby, why is it so difficult?

If Common Core is state-based why is Uncle Sam pressuring states to accept it?

original article: Schools Threatened by Feds Over Massive Number of Common Core Opt-Outs
August 3, 2015 by REMSO MARTINEZ

From coast to coast, states throughout the country are trying to find any way possible to escape the widespread mess of Common Core. Recently, a large number of Long Island schools were at the center of attention when they reported having the highest number of Common Core opt-outs in the nation. Due to the immense number of students who refused to take place in the intrusive and cumbersome standardized tests, two schools in Long Island risk losing their prized national “Blue Ribbon” award for academic excellence nominations.

As of now, the two schools targeted by the Department of Education are George H. McVey and Quogue elementary schools, who earned their Blue Ribbon nominations based on scores from spring of 2014. However, the actual awards would be given to the schools nominated based on results from the following year’s score next April. This pressure to comply with the Common Core exams means that 12 of the 19 schools nominated for the prestigious award could be taken out of the running due to the opt-outs that have spread throughout the country.

This type of issue is only one piece in a larger part of the culture of corruption brought about by the heavy influence of not only Common Core pushers, but also the Department of Education. A recent Common Core related incident occurred in the past several weeks, where a Harlem principal committed suicide after fabricating the results of her students Common Core exams, all in order to maintain federal funding based on the achievement level of the students.

Parents, students, and even teachers against core curricula and its implementation are the reason so manystates are trying to escape this program. So what is left to do at this point? One path was to help strengthen the option for students to opt-out of the exams; Senator Mike Lee tried to do this at the federal level with an amendment to the Every Child Achieves Act of 2015, but that was shot down in the US Senate 32-64. However, a similar amendment authored by Rep. Matt Salmon to the Student Success Act passed the House.

Another more practical and permanent solution would be to keep this issue within the borders of the individual states, since they brought this beast of a program on themselves, it would be best for them to keep it as an in-house issue. Lindsey Burke, a Will Skillman fellow in education policy at the Heritage Foundation, discussed how states could exit from Common Core back in an article for the Daily Signal last April; she stated three main points (for further details on her points, click here):

  1. Determine how the decision was made to cede the state’s standard-setting authority.
  2. Prohibit new spending for standards implementation.
  3. Determine how to reverse course.

Until state governments can come together and realize that the common curricula and excessive, intrusive testing is causing more harm than good, it will depend almost entirely on the grassroots to affect real change by bringing not only awareness, but solutions to the policy table.

Do we want compliance, or a separation between school and state?

As the summer of 2015 winds down, it’s once again time to celebrate the stupidest and most outrageous events that occurred on campus during the last academic year with The Daily Caller’s Third Annual College Stupidity Awards.

original article: For the second annual College Stupidity Awards, by the way, look here.

Look here for the exciting inaugural College Stupidity ceremony.

For the 2014-15 version of cringe-worthy political correctness run amok, outrageous suffocation of free speech and ridiculous, fascist buffoonery on the part of bureaucrats, just keep scrolling. It’s all here as TheDC looks back on the academic year that was.
In April at the University of Michigan, a showing of the movie “American Sniper” was canceled because a few students complained it was “insensitive” to Muslim people. Michigan’s new football coach, Jim Harbaugh, protested the protest, tweeting “Proud of Chris Kyle & Proud to be an American & if that offends anybody then so be it!” The taxpayer-funded school first substituted “Paddington” for “American Sniper.” “Paddington” is a children’s movie about a talking, stuffed teddy bear and his series of adorable misadventures on the streets of London. Michigan students had the opportunity to watch both “American Sniper” and “Paddington.” (RELATED: University Cancels ‘American Sniper’ Because It’s ‘Racist’)

In April on the main campus of Pennsylvania State University, the editors of The Daily Collegian published a 433-word editorial arguing that Rolling Stone’s fabricated, completely retracted article, “A Rape on Campus”” demonstrates that “false accusations” of rape “are extremely unlikely.” In the bizarre, unsigned op-ed, The Daily Collegian lamented the fact that the Phi Kappa Psi chapter at the University of Virginia is now suing over damages caused by the Nov. 19 article by disgraced journalist Sabrina Rubin Erdely. (RELATED: College Newspaper: False Rape Accusation Shows ‘False Accusations Are Extremely Unlikely’) Erdely’s bombshell article full of lies falsely accused seven Phi Psi members of brutally gang-raping a female student with the alias “Jackie” in September 2012. (RELATED: Here Are EIGHT Campus Rape Hoaxes Eerily Like The UVA Rape Story)

YouTube screenshot MOVIECLIPSThis spring, the University of Colorado Boulder proudly launched an on-campus spying campaign that encourages students to report incidents of “bias” to government officials at the school. The new and very extensive online “bias” reporting mechanism solicits nearly two dozen pieces of information about perpetrators of “bias” including their names, addresses, phone numbers and student ID numbers. The point of the “Bias Incident Reporting” scheme is to make the taxpayer-funded University of Colorado campus free of “demeaning and hurtful statements.” To advertise the scheme, the university created and paid for posters featuring demeaning and hurtful statements which denigrate various cultures and ethnic groups. “Go back to Africa, you don’t belong here,” one school-funded poster reads. “Your mom must be the janitor ’cause that’s the only job for dirty Mexicans,” declares another. Except for the school officials behind the “Bias Motivated Incident” poster campaign, there appears to be no evidence that anyone on the CU Boulder campus has ever said these things. At the University of North Texas, a school that pays its newly appointed vice president of diversity and inclusion a sweet salary that is more than any governor in any state makes, students petitioned school officials to replace Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as the keynote speaker at the 2015 spring commencement ceremony. The petition focused on the fact that some students have political disagreements with Abbott, a Republican. “Governor Abbott is an advocate for immigration reform, border patrol, and anti-equal marriage laws,” it read. The petition did not suggest a replacement graduation speaker with views aligning with those of the 36,168-student commuter school. confederate flag public domainChancellor R. Bowen Loftinthe highest-ranking official at the University of Missouri, became pathetically unglued in July and threatened to hunt down students and alumni over a photograph from 2012 of some people holding a Confederate flag. In an official statement, Loftin suggested that students could feel physically threatened by the three-year-old photo’s appearance on Twitter. The three-year old image which caused Loftin to lose his composure appeared on Twitter on July 12 at a Twitter account called Frat Scenery. In all likelihood, the people holding the flag were fans of the University of Georgia football team in town to watch the Bulldogs absolutely throttle Mizzou by a score of 41-20. photo by Clare Booth Luce InstituteHilariously, officials at Georgetown University put pressure on an off-campus group to edit an April 17 lecture posted on YouTube because parts of the video show the militant feminist student protestors and other students. The lecture entitled “What’s Right (and Badly Wrong) with Feminism?” was part of the Luce Lecture series. The featured speaker was resident American Enterprise Institute scholar Christina Hoff Sommers. One of the militant feminist students described Sommers — 5’7″ and about 130 lbs. — as “an extremist anti-feminist speaker that dismisses and denies survivors of sexual assault and the real harm of rape culture.” A handful of feminist students demanded “trigger warnings” prior to the speech by Sommers. Lauren Gagliardi, Georgetown’s assistant director for the center for student engagement, informed the campus College Republicans via email that the school would “step in” if Luce, an independent conservative women’s organization, refuses to edit the YouTube video. It remains unclear exactly what special legal power Gagliardi believes she or Georgetown possesses. (RELATED: Off-Campus Conservative Women’s Group Under Censorship Pressure From Georgetown U.)

YouTube screenshot Sofia Metal QueenOver the course of this academic year, George Washington University — America’s lyingest, cheatingest college — bizarrely contemplated a ban on a sacred Hindu symbol because it resembles a Nazi swastika. The administration at the fancypants $62,485-per-year school in Washington, D.C. also left open the option of expelling a Jewish student who brought the symbol, a Sanskrit svastika [with a ‘v’], to campus. John Banzhaf, a famed public interest law professor at the GW Law School, took up the cause of the embattled student. “It’s like banning the 6-pointed Jewish Star of David because some people might mistake it for the pentagram symbol and human sacrifice, or expelling a student for using the word ‘niggardly’ because other students may mistake it for a racist word and get upset,” Banzhaf analogized. The hunger strike went on for about a week. The students involved ended the stunt out of concerns for their own health and went back to their normal lives on the marginally prestigious, $61,277-per-year Boston-area campus. One student striker, Zoe Jeka quit her hunger strike on Friday when her blood pressure dropped. Also, Jeka presumably had tools on hand to measure her blood pressure. The custodians remain laid off. LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM is an actual acronym that exists in the real world populated by actual human being thanks to Wesleyan University. The acronym — for student housing — is an attempt to include every conceivable kink and gender identity (except heterosexual) in the already-long acronym LGBTQ. In its alphabet soup, the fancypants private college in Connecticut recognized Questioning, Flexual, Asexual, Genderfuck, Polyamourous, Bondage/Disciple, Dominance/Submission and Sadism/Masochism. Officials at Marquette University suspended tenured political science professor John McAdams in December because he wrote a blog post criticizing a colleague’s refusal to let a conservative student debate gay marriage during a philosophy lecture. The philosophy professor, Cheryl Abbate, had allegedly called the student’s concerns about gay marriage “homophobic.” “Everybody agrees on this,” Abbate said according to the student, “and there is no need to discuss it.” The Catholic university relieved McAdams of all teaching duties. Word came out this summer that the University of New Hampshire had a Bias-Free Language Guide advising students not to use the word “American” because it is “problematic.” Other “problematic” terms in the ultra-politically-correct guide included “illegal alien,” “foreigners” “mothering,” “fathering” and “homosexual.” According to the university’s website. Once news of the Orwellian guide spread nationally, the taxpayer-funded school’s president quickly made it disappear. (RELATED: Public University’s Bias-Free Language Guide Calls The Word American’ ‘PROBLEMATIC’)

Officials at Dixie State University in Utah banned libertarian students from stapling fliers on school bulletins in March. The reason? The bureaucrats concluded that the fliers “disparaged” two American presidents and a dead communist revolutionary. Specifically, the fliers — created by the university’s chapter of the Young Americans for Liberty as advertisement for the group’s info session — depicted Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Che Guevara in a negative light. Backed by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, the students have since sued the public, taxpayer-funded school on free speech grounds. (RELATED: Dixie State University Slammed With Lawsuit For Poster Censorship)

New Jersey’s publicly funded Kean University attempted to fill the position of “specialist for residence life” at its satellite campus in China this year. There’s just one hitch: You should be a member of the Communist party if you want to snag the job. The still-extant job posting explicitly declares: “Membership in Chinese Communist Party is preferred.” Applicants must also state their height and birthplace. Known as Wenzhau-Kean University, Kean’s China campus is a jointly Chinese-American institution offering dual degrees to English-speaking students. (RELATED: Taxpayer-Funded Kean U. Obama can’t make up his mind about killing people and harvesting organs

original article: Obama: Killing Humans And Harvesting Their Organs Is An Atrocity That Must End
August 5, 2015 by Mollie Hemingway

President Barack Obama told a group of young African leaders on Monday that harvesting organs from humans that are killed as part of an African ritual was “craziness” and a “cruel” tradition that needed to stop. He warned of dehumanizing marginal groups of humans and of the problems that arise when “you are not able to see someone else as a human being.”

In a wide-ranging question and answer session with members of the Young African Leaders Initiative [YALI], a woman from Kenya said “Persons with albinism in Africa are being killed and their body parts harvested for ritual purposes. My request to you is to raise this issue with heads of state of African countries to bring these atrocities to an end.”

Obama decried the practice and went on to encourage the young people to do everything in their power to fight on the behalf of vulnerable humans.

“Young people, you can lead the way and set a good example. But it requires some courage because the old thinking, people will push back at you and if you don’t have convictions and courage to be able stand up for what you think is right, then cruelty will perpetuate itself,” he said. He added, “If there’s one thing I want YALI leaders to come out with, it’s the notion of you are strong by taking care of the people who are vulnerable, by looking after the minority, looking after the disabled, looking after the vulnerable. You’re not strong by putting people down you’re strong by lifting them up. That’s the measure of a leader.”

Obama also tied the practice of harvesting organs from albinos with racism and discrimination against gay people and urged consistency in how they view the sanctity of human life if they want to complain about human rights abuses.

You can watch the question and answer here — I’ve teed it up to start right at 48:00 into the session:

Obama’s comments come in the midst of a weeks-long scandal in his own country over the killing of unborn children via abortion followed by the harvesting and distribution of their organs. The Center for Medical Progress has released five videos of Planned Parenthood officials discussing the killing of human fetuses and the harvesting of their organs — or entire cadavers — to researchers willing to pay a pretty penny for them.

On the topic of human organ harvesting, President Obama’s spokesman Josh Earnest has said that President Obama has chosen not to watch the video footage of Planned Parenthood officials dissecting human fetuses for parts. Nevertheless, President Obama has vehemently defended the abortion group.

In 2012, Planned Parenthood said, while announcing a $1.4 million ad buy on his behalf, that they had “no greater champion” than President Obama.

During his time in the Illinois Senate, Obama’s devotion to abortion was so extreme that he argued a form of infanticide should remain legal out of fear that protecting infants born alive might somehow protect young humans in the womb.
