Thought you knew Chick-fil-a?

Where’s the beef? What the Chick-fil-A boss really said
July 20, 2012 by Terry Mattingly

So, did you hear about that wild quote that the president of Chick-fil-A didn’t say the other day?

Did you ever find a copy of Dan Cathy’s actual comments?

Press suckered by Chick-fil-A fairytale
Mainstream media trumpet nonstory cooked up by ‘gay’ advocates
September 20, 2012 by Dave Tombers

Mainstream media organizations have headlined over the last two days Chick-fil-A’s “change” they claim means the company suddenly is promising not to discriminate against homosexuals – and that it would stop giving money to those organizations that promote traditional marriage.

“Chick-fil-A says it will stop funding antigay groups” proclaimed the Detroit Free Press.

But it appears the facts are that the company’s anti-discrimination policy remains just as it was months ago – before the controversy over owner Dan Cathy’s Christian beliefs erupted – and its donations appear to have had no new directive applied.

LATimes on Chick-fil-A: Where’s the journalism?
September 20, 2012 by Terry Mattingly

A long, long, time ago — almost a decade, in fact — there was a Los Angeles Times editor who wrote a letter to his section editors in which he defended solid, old-fashioned American journalism. You know, the kind that strives to accurately quote informed voices on both sides of controversial issues, perhaps even in a way that promotes informed, balanced, constructive debate and civic life.

The editor’s name was John Carroll.

Selective concern for authenticy in politics; you don’t say!

Andrea Mitchell Inadvertently Admits Double Standard at MSNBC: Chuck Todd Remains Silent
September 19, 2012 by Jeffrey Meyer

It took less than 12 hours after it was published online at the website of leftist magazine Mother Jones for a video secretly recorded at a Mitt Romney fundraiser in May to appear all over NBC and MSNBC. The heavily-edited video, obtained by the grandson of former President Jimmy Carter, has been a staple of MSNBC coverage the past two days.

Fast forward to Wednesday when audio of then-State Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) speaking at Loyola University talking about his support for wealth redistribution. MSNBC refused to play the audio on air. On her show Wednesday, Andrea Mitchell claimed that the network’s reason was:

Because we have not authenticated this 14-year-old tape from Loyola College when Barack Obama was a State Senator. So because we have not independently at NBC News and MSNBC authenticated it, we’re not airing it.

Ignore our conspiracy, they are the nutjobs

When one lacks support from media, politics, and general common (un)knowledge, people who want to go against the grain have a lot of work to do. Anthony Watts is just such a fellow, since he has only real facts to support his argument against the unquestionable narrative of man-made global warming. In appearing in PBS this week, Watts has had a great deal of feedback, mostly negative. But, as with the environmental data itself, it seems Watts’ critics can’t be bothered to check into the facts of the surrounding situation. Now we’ve got environmental alarmists calling for a conspiracy to save humanity, while continuing the myth that people who think for themselves (rather than blindly accepting the political hype permeating the issue) are the conspiracy theorists. Even scientists married to the believe of anthropogenic climate change can’t keep up with publications in their own field.

Watts Up With That?

This has been a weird week with my appearance on PBS Newshour. As Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters documents, the alarmosphere has gone beserk over my appearance on PBS.

Watching it, it becomes clear they are in a panic. Even Ralph Nader says Washington is running away from the issue. So, like anyone who’s panicked, Nuccitelli makes an epic fail in his haste to discredit me. He’s upset that I was allowed to speak at PBS and I was just one of a balanced panel of people on that program. It must have been the horrible things I said like:

CNN/NYT produce fraudulent poll

Can You Top This? CBS/NYT Poll Weights Registered Voters Dems 35%, Republicans 22%
September 17, 2012 by Tom Blumer

In a campaign season which is on track to go down as the worst ever for cooked polling, one from CBS News and the New York Times has outdone everyone to this point.

Clearly, they didn’t like what a properly weighted result would have told them, which is that Mitt Romney is in a deadlock with Barack Obama if one uses Gallup’s party affiliation numbers from before Democratic National Convention, or that he’s up by five points if one opts for Rasmussen’s affiliation numbers. In their latest poll, with registered voters, CBS/NYT not only oversampled Democrats, but they took the number of actual responses and further weighted them towards Dems,
